SOME OF MY FAVORITE LIL UZI VERT SONGS

Hey guys! Your boy is back hitting ya’ll with another list since the lists seem to be some of my most popular content on this site so far. Today I wanted to talk about another one of my favorite rappers, Lil Uzi Vert. Uzi burst onto the scene in the mid 2010s, garnering a ton of traction from his mixtapes like Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World and The Perfect LUV Tape. After being a part of one of the most popular XXL Freshman Cyphers of all time in 2016, Lil Uzi Vert became a household name and one of the biggest new rappers in the game. In 2017, Uzi released his debut studio album Luv Is Rage 2, which went number one worldwide and was one of my personal favorite albums of 2017. Lil Uzi Vert was supposed to release his next album, titled Eternal Atake, in early 2019, but disputes with his record label have led to continued delays of this release. The whole world is fiending for this new Uzi album, and we all really hope that he is able to release some kind of project soon. His energy and unique voice and flows are copied by so many new rappers today, and the king deserves to be back on his throne. With all of that being said, here is a list of some of my favorite Lil Uzi Vert songs in no particular order. These are definitely not the only songs that I really love by Uzi; I feel like I really could have added the songs ‘Seven Million’ and ‘Neon Guts’ as well, but I did not want to make the list too long and I feel like I made some solid enough choices. I would love to hear which songs of his you guys love too, so please comment down below or let me know your own favorites!

ERASE YOUR SOCIAL

Back then they napped on me. Now they all just act homie. Now I’m hot, they all on me. Pull up the Snapchats on me…

The first song of this list was produced by Don Cannon, an excellent producer but shitty record label executive(He is one of the main reason why Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake has not come out). I love the sentiment and attitude of this track so much; Uzi is basically giving a huge middle finger to everyone who doubted him. He also talks about the dangers of social media on this track; he states that he does not have his own Snapchat because Instagram is already personal enough and Snapchat seems to be too much for him. The melody of this track is so killer, dude. This is one of those songs I could listen to over and over again just because I love the melody so much.

OF COURSE WE GHETTO FLOWERS FEAT. PLAYBOI CARTI AND OFFSET

Yeah, what, diamonds all on my teeth. Walk around is Christian Loubs, diamonds all on my sneaks…

This is one of the hardest and wild songs on this list. This is definitely a party banger type of trap. I really wish there were more songs with just these three rappers; their chemistry in so palpable and they sound so great on the same track together. This is one of those songs that you will struggle to get out of your head once you listen. Listen right now and see for yourself!

SCOTT AND RAMONA

I can’t go a day if I don’t talk to my baby. I went to my hood and all my friends think I made it. I talk to my fam, man my Momma thinks I’m famous. Yeah, my Momma thinks I’m famous…

If I had to pick which song by Lil Uzi Vert was actually my favorite, this might actually be the one. The instrumental on this track is just so weird and unique, and I love the deep and somber voice that Uzi sings with on this song. Also, the title of this track references one of my favorite movies, which is obviously a huge plus for me ‘Scott and Ramona’ probably is not for the faint of heart or for people who are really into Lil Uzi Vert’s music; it is probably one of his most strange songs. If you want to challenge yourself with weird trap music, definitely check this one out.

P’S AND Q’S

Yeah, I took what’s yours, I made her mine. Jump in the Porsche, ride through the night. I changed your life, now you gonna rock…

‘P’s and Q’s’ is probably one of the weirdest and most challenging songs on this list for Lil Uzi Vert music beginners. This song is one of those ones that has a weird and crazy ass instrumental, and features Uzi spitting in wild and tough to understand vocals tones I love these kind of Uzi songs though; although he is really good at the simple and melodic pop-trap bangers, it is when he pushes these boundaries that he really inspires all of the rappers around him. Songs like this are the reason everyone tries to sound like Lil Uzi Vert these days.

Pull up, walk in. Everybody yell like “watch out.” Got it too lit like “pipe down.” No I can’t wait, I need it right now…

This track is easily one of the best club-styles bangers that Lil Uzi Vert has made to this point. The beat on this track goes so hard, and it is so fun to see this track performed live. Lyrically, it is mainly just a party track and really does not have a ton of substance, but that is okay because Lil Uzi delivers his bars with so much intensity and energy that you definitely do not need to know what he is saying to rage to it. Have you noticed what the answer is to the equation in the title of this song? Haha! It is just another example of Uzi loving all things dark and related to Lucifer.

DO WHAT I WANT

Everybody knows I’m better. Yeah I’m better. It don’t matter. Pockets fatter. Nowadays I’m on my haters they got sadder….

‘Do What I Want’ is yet another song on this list that is on The Perfect Luv Tape, which is such an iconic mixtape. This track is also produced by Maaly Raw. Maaly and Uzi have produced some of the most iconic hip hop songs in recent memory; Maaly Raw is not afraid of thinking outside of the box when it comes to his production and Uzi always does such a great job riding these strange instrumentals and pushing himself on them. ‘Do What I Want’ easily has some of the best and most iconic Lil Uzi Vert ad-libs; The way he screams “Yeah” on the chorus is so awesome and hilarious. This is a really good song to introduce people to Lil Uzi Vert’s music if they do not know much about him. It has a lot of the weird qualities that make an Uzi song great but is still pretty pop and not wild enough to scare new Uzi listeners away.

THE WAY LIFE GOES

My Louboutins new, so my bottoms they is redder. No I am not a rat, but I’m all about my cheddar…

‘The Way Life Goes’ may be the most popular Lil Uzi Vert song besides the iconic ‘XO Tour Llif3; it is certainly one of his most radio-friendly songs and is one of the songs by him you would most likely hear at a bar or club. The sample used in this song is so great; this sample comes from the song ‘Landslide’ by the electro-pop group Oh Wonder, which was one of Uzi’s favorite songs at the time he made ‘The Way Life Goes.’ Lyrically, this song is a cry for help from Uzi; he is trying to say that he is fine with his break up he had with model Brittany Byrd, but it is obvious he was still struggling and using material items to numb his pain. I really love this track for its pop sensibility; It proves that Lil Uzi Vert can tone it down and shows that he can make radio-style pop-trap music with the best of them.

DARK QUEEN

Dear Mama, I don’t want no sign off. Out here getting commas, like my dad I’m a grinder. She don’t want me locked up…

‘Dark Queen,’ which is off of Lil Uzi Vert’s debut studio album Luv Is Rage 2, is Lil Uzi Vert’s ode to his mom. On this track, he sings about how his mom has always supported everything he has wanted to to, even when he was trapping. It is easy to see his love and affection for his mom on this one, and is an indication as to why he seems like such a sweet and sensitive guy. Even though this is a deep cut, I actually think it is one of his best and easiest sounding pop-trap songs; I really wish this song had been single because I think it would have done major numbers. If you are a fan of Lil Uzi Vert’s more radio-friendly songs like ‘XO Tour Llife3’ or the aforementioned ‘The Way Life Goes,’ you really need to listen to this song.
